A London-based writer and editor, specialising in comedy and the arts.
Zoë is a freelance writer, copywriter, editor and project manager, with a decade of experience in the media and higher education.
Zoë was a staff writer at the Evening Standard, covering all of London’s cultural activity, and launched the paper’s first LGBTQ+ section. Prior to this, she was Lifestyle Editor, Acting Features Editor and Features Writer at the Hampstead and Highgate Express, Hackney Gazette and Islington Gazette. She has also written for Huck Magazine, the Sunday Times, The Fence, Stylist, The Week, Funny Women and more.
In 2020, she launched a comedy newsletter, LMAOnaise, recommending shows taking place in person and online, which has since expanded into an online magazine and print newspaper (read more about it here!). LMAOnaise was shortlisted for the Women In Journalism Georgina Henry Prize for Digital Innovation at the British Journalism Awards in 2023, and won the Best Entertainment and Culture Newsletter award at the Media Voices Publisher Newsletter Awards in 2024.
She holds a MA with distinction in international journalism from City University, where she won the Richard Wild Journalism Prize, and a BSc in anthropology from UCL, where she recently worked as a strategic project manager.
In 2024, she launched Right!? a newsletter dedicated to all things culture, from theatre and performance, to film and telly, to books and art.
Alongside writing and editing, she also delivers workshops, hosts panels, does press and storytelling consultancy for brands, and has been a judge on multiple comedy award panels.
